🚨 The IRS May Owe You Hundreds—But You Only Have Until April 15 to Claim It!

Time is almost up! If you didn’t file a 2021 federal tax return, the IRS may still owe you a refund worth hundreds—even thousands—of dollars. But if you don’t act fast, that money could disappear for good.

💰 What’s This All About?
According to the IRS, over 1.1 million Americans never filed a 2021 tax return, and they’re collectively owed more than $1 billion in unclaimed refunds.

Here's the catch: you only have three years from the original due date to file and claim your refund. For 2021 returns, that deadline is rapidly approaching—April 15, 2025.

💸 What You Could Be Missing
The median refund for 2021 is $781

You may also qualify for up to $1,400 in stimulus payments (officially called the Recovery Rebate Credit)

That’s potentially over $2,000 the IRS is holding in your name

Even if you earned little or had no income in 2021, you could still be eligible to receive a refund—but only if you file.

⏳ What Happens If You Don’t File in Time?
If you miss the April 15 deadline, you forfeit your refund entirely. The IRS keeps the money, and you lose out. No exceptions. That’s why it’s critical to act now.

✅ What You Should Do Next
File your 2021 tax return before April 15, 2025

If you think you qualified for stimulus payments and didn’t receive them, claim the Recovery Rebate Credit

File electronically or use trusted services like IRS Free File if your income is under $79,000

Share this with friends or family who haven’t filed—they could be missing out, too!

🧠 Tip
Even if you don't normally file taxes or thought you weren't required to, it’s worth checking. The IRS doesn’t automatically send these refunds—you must file to claim what's yours.

Don’t leave your refund on the table.
File by April 15, 2025, and get the money you're owed.

Running out of time? ⏰ You can file for an extension by April 15 to avoid late-filing penalties! Here’s how to do it in just a few steps:
📝 How to File a Tax Extension (Form 4868)
Option 1: File Online (Free File)
Visit the IRS Free File website: https://www.irs.gov/freefile
Choose a Free File provider and follow the steps to electronically submit Form 4868.
You’ll receive a confirmation once it’s accepted.
Option 2: File by Mail
Download and print Form 4868 here: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-4868
Fill out your basic info and estimate your tax liability.
Mail it to the correct IRS address based on your location (listed on the form).

💡 Important Note:
An extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. Estimate and pay what you can to avoid interest and penalties.

🔍 How many of you are seeing TC 570 on your tax transcript?
✅How long have you been waiting since it appeared?
✅What Does TC 570 Mean on My Tax Transcript?
Transaction Code 570 – Additional Account Action Pending indicates that the IRS has placed a temporary hold (or freeze) on your tax return. This freeze prevents your refund from being issued until the IRS completes a review or takes a specific action related to your account. TC 570 doesn’t always mean there’s a problem—it simply means the IRS needs more time to process part of your return before releasing your refund.
